Midwinter Festival

Sheffield Steam and Heritage Centre presents Midwinter Festival on 25th June 2022 from 11:00 am to 9:00pm.

Celebrate the middle of winter with a gathering at 14 Spring St Sheffield.

There will be a variety of foods available on site including freshly cooked roast meat rolls, soup in a cup and hot chips. Selected food vans will be invited to the event.

Volunteers are urgently needed to ensure that the event is a success.
If you can spare three or four hours or more on Saturday 25th June please contact Jill Ridgway on Mob 0448 631 922 about becoming a
volunteer.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite – $10 a family, $5 Adult and children are a gold coin donation. For more information, please contact Festival Co-ordinator Maurice Hays – 0488 517 619.

This is an alcohol free family oriented event following COVID guidelines for a Tier One event.

There will be a programme of singers and musicians throughout the day to complement the steam train rides (including night runs), the wonder of the giant steam traction engines, and the curiosities  of heritage machinery.

The Knights Templar will be demonstrating their weaponry skills, the blacksmith will be forging, and the Fergie Tractors will be on display.

The kids will enjoy rides, face painting and joining in with the tug of war against a steam roller. Who will win this time?

The highlight of the evening will be a professionally presented fireworks display and bonfire, at 8:45pm. Toast some marshmallows with us and join in the “sparkler wave”.

“This is the second year that we have presented this winter festival we are so pleased to bring the community together in this event and proud of the support that the town has given. The evening offers a fun filled, family friendly event and we were very pleased with how it went last year.  Over 700 people made the trip to Sheffield to enjoy our first event and everyone involved had a ball.  Night steam train runs are very rare now in Australia and I urge everyone to come and participate.” – Mr Martin, Director of Sheffield Steam and Heritage.
